Same-day courier prices in Istanbul faced an unexpected test last week. After record rainfall on 14 October, the Istanbul Governor's Office kept motorcycles off the roads for about 33 hours, leaving anyone who needed to move urgent documents, samples or orders across the city asking what to do next. As of 25 October, diesel was still TRY 96.80 per litre on the European side. In this guide we use real prices from our own calculator to show what a courier costs in Istanbul, what drives the price and how to keep deliveries on the same day even in bad weather.
In short
- Jetbee starting prices inside Istanbul (VAT included): walking courier TRY 144, bicycle and e-scooter courier TRY 216, motorcycle and car courier TRY 288.
- We assign walking couriers jobs of up to 1 km, and bicycle, e-bike and e-scooter couriers jobs of up to 3 km; motorcycles up to 75 km and cars up to 100 km, all measured by road.
- For motorcycles and cars the first 5 km are flat; beyond that the price is TRY 57.60 per km of the total distance (VAT included).
- Examples by road distance: Beşiktaş → Kadıköy TRY 756.86, Levent → Ataşehir TRY 1,312.70, Beylikdüzü → Kadıköy TRY 2,451.46.

Same-day courier prices in Istanbul 2026: our current rates

The first thing that sets a courier price in Istanbul is the vehicle. We work with five courier types, each matched to a different distance and parcel profile. The figures below are the VAT-inclusive prices we saw on our calculator on the morning of 26 October 2026 for a standard 30×20×10 cm parcel weighing 2 kg:
| Courier type | Starting price | Distance covered by this price | Maximum road distance we assign | Parcel limit (desi) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Walking courier | TRY 144.00 | up to 1 km | 1 km | 5 desi |
| Bicycle courier | TRY 216.00 | up to 3 km | 3 km | 5 desi |
| E-bike / e-scooter courier | TRY 216.00 | up to 3 km | 3 km | 5 desi |
| Motorcycle courier | TRY 288.00 | up to 5 km | 75 km | 40 desi |
| Car courier | TRY 288.00 | up to 5 km | 100 km | 150 desi |
The "maximum distance we assign" column is a service rule for us. Walking couriers get jobs of up to 1 km, and bicycle, e-bike and e-scooter couriers jobs of up to 3 km, so that deliveries stay genuinely fast and couriers are not overworked. These rates carry no extra km charge. Motorcycle couriers take jobs of up to 75 km and car couriers up to 100 km, handling the long runs between districts and continents. We measure every limit by road, not as the crow flies.
For motorcycles and cars the first 5 km cost a flat TRY 288. Above 5 km the price is the total distance multiplied by TRY 48 plus VAT (TRY 57.60). A 5.44 km job therefore costs TRY 313.34 and a 10 km job about TRY 576. There is no price difference between motorcycle and car; capacity and weather make the difference.
Restaurants, cafés, grocery stores and online shops with regular orders can also use our dedicated courier model, where bicycle and e-scooter couriers start at TRY 95 per delivery. Occasional senders use the on-demand rates above.
Real route examples: what does a courier cost in Istanbul?

A rate card is abstract; what people really want to know is the price of their own route. So we tested nine sample routes between Istanbul's busiest business hubs and residential areas, all with the same 2 kg parcel:
| Route (sample points) | Road distance | Walking | Bicycle / e-scooter | Motorcycle / car |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Within Mecidiyeköy | 1.41 km | TRY 144.00 | TRY 216.00 | TRY 288.00 |
| Taksim → Beşiktaş | 2.68 km | over 1 km limit | TRY 216.00 | TRY 288.00 |
| Levent → Taksim | 8.48 km | over 1 km limit | over 3 km limit | TRY 488.45 |
| Beşiktaş → Kadıköy | 13.14 km | over 1 km limit | over 3 km limit | TRY 756.86 |
| Bakırköy → Levent | 20.84 km | over 1 km limit | over 3 km limit | TRY 1,200.38 |
| Levent → Ataşehir | 22.79 km | over 1 km limit | over 3 km limit | TRY 1,312.70 |
| Kartal → Mecidiyeköy | 27.58 km | over 1 km limit | over 3 km limit | TRY 1,588.61 |
| Beylikdüzü → Kadıköy | 42.56 km | over 1 km limit | over 3 km limit | TRY 2,451.46 |
| Beylikdüzü → Pendik | 63.31 km | over 1 km limit | over 3 km limit | TRY 3,646.66 |
- On short distances the right vehicle can halve the cost. A document within Mecidiyeköy under 1 km costs TRY 144 by walking courier and TRY 288 by motorcycle.
- Up to 5 km, motorcycle and car share the same flat price. For 2–5 km jobs such as Taksim–Beşiktaş, choose a motorcycle or car if the parcel is above 5 desi.
- Crossing continents costs less than many expect. A 2 kg parcel from Beşiktaş to Kadıköy, about 13.1 km by road over the bridge, is TRY 756.86.
Note: we measured road distances on 26 October 2026 with OpenStreetMap data (OSRM) along the driving route between sample points representing each district; on the first two routes the walking route was 0.94 km and the cycling routes 1.06 and 2.46 km, all within the limits. You see the final amount when you create the delivery in our app.
What drives the price? Four Istanbul-specific factors
1. Distance and the 5 km threshold
Distance is the biggest component. Because the first 5 km are flat, most deliveries within a district or to a neighbouring one, such as Şişli–Beşiktaş (about 3.7 km by road), stay at TRY 288; neighbours like Kadıköy–Üsküdar can run slightly over 5 km by road. Above the threshold every kilometre counts, so choosing a pickup point close to the destination saves money.
2. Parcel size and vehicle capacity
Walking, bicycle and scooter couriers carry up to 5 desi; motorcycles take up to 40 desi and cars up to 150 desi. Desi is length × width × height in cm divided by 3000; we explain it in our Cargo Prices in Turkey 2026 guide.
3. Time of day, traffic and the Bosphorus
The same distance can take very different times at 8:30 am and 2 pm. As the calculator price depends on distance, rush hour does not change the price but can extend delivery time. Where possible, schedule critical cross-continent jobs around midday rather than the evening peak.
4. Weather and fuel
According to Dünya's fuel report of 25 October 2026, petrol costs TRY 76.30 and diesel TRY 96.80 on the European side, and TRY 76.10 and TRY 96.60 on the Asian side. Fuel is a major cost item for couriers, while severe weather can halt motorcycle delivery altogether.

The 14 October flood and motorcycle ban: planning same-day delivery in bad weather

With its press statement of 14 October 2026, the Istanbul Governor's Office banned motorcycles and similar two-wheelers from 9 pm that day until further notice. Governor Davut Gül announced on 15 October that motorcycles could return from 6 am on Friday 16 October. Bianet reported on 22 October that the city saw its highest rainfall since 1942 and that, according to TurkStat's September 2026 data, registered motorcycles in Istanbul reached 978,193. Much of the city's delivery runs on two wheels, the vehicles most exposed to weather.
- Move critical jobs forward as soon as a weather warning appears. On 14 October the ban took effect only hours after it was announced.
- Use a car courier during a ban. Our car couriers are not affected by a motorcycle ban and charge the same TRY 288 up to 5 km.
- Waterproof your parcel. Put documents in a clear sleeve or waterproof envelope and wrap boxes in plastic.
- Brief the recipient. On flooded streets the courier may ask for a different handover point.
- Do not pressure the courier. Their safety matters more than any delivery.
Which courier for which delivery?
| Delivery | Courier we recommend | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Documents or keys within one office tower, mall or bazaar | Walking courier | Cheapest option within 1 km, no traffic |
| Café, restaurant or pharmacy order within a neighbourhood | Bicycle, e-bike or e-scooter | Low price up to 3 km and easy parking |
| Urgent documents, samples or spare parts between districts | Motorcycle courier | Most agile in traffic, up to 75 km |
| Cross-continent delivery (e.g. Levent → Ataşehir) | Motorcycle; car in bad weather | Same per-km price; weather decides safety |
| Boxes, flowers, cakes, fragile items or anything above 40 desi | Car courier | Closed boot and up to 150 desi |
| Bank cards, contracts, valuable documents | Motorcycle or car courier | Through our valuable document logistics service |
European-side business districts
Levent, Maslak, Mecidiyeköy and Şişli generate heavy document traffic between office towers. Walking couriers suit jobs inside the same complex, bicycles and scooters jobs within 3 km by road, and motorcycles longer runs to Bakırköy or Beylikdüzü.
Asian side and residential areas
Narrow streets around Kadıköy's market and Moda favour bicycles and scooters, while long axes between the Ataşehir finance district, Ümraniye and Kartal are covered by our motorcycle and car couriers.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a same-day courier cost in Istanbul?
As of 26 October 2026, our prices including VAT are TRY 144 for a walking courier (max. 1 km), TRY 216 for a bicycle or e-scooter courier (max. 3 km; neither has an extra km charge) and TRY 288 for a motorcycle or car courier (up to 5 km). Beyond 5 km, motorcycle and car jobs are charged at TRY 57.60 per km of the total distance, up to 75 km by motorcycle and 100 km by car. We measure distance by road, not as the crow flies.
What is the per-km price of a motorcycle courier in Istanbul?
The first 5 km cost a flat TRY 288 including VAT. Once a job exceeds 5 km, the price equals the total distance multiplied by TRY 48 plus VAT, i.e. TRY 57.60 per km. For example, Levent to Ataşehir, 22.79 km by road, comes to TRY 1,312.70. We take motorcycle jobs of up to 75 km.
How much is a courier from the European side to the Asian side?
It depends on distance. Based on road distance, Beşiktaş to Kadıköy (13.14 km) costs TRY 756.86, Levent to Ataşehir (22.79 km) TRY 1,312.70 and Beylikdüzü to Kadıköy (42.56 km) TRY 2,451.46 (VAT included, 2 kg parcel). Walking, bicycle and scooter couriers are not assigned to these distances, so cross-continent jobs go by motorcycle or car.
Can I send a courier when motorcycles are banned?
When the governor bans motorcycles and other two-wheelers, motorcycle deliveries stop, and we do not consider bicycle or scooter delivery safe in such weather either. For urgent items you can book a car courier during the ban. Follow the official announcement for the exact hours and move critical deliveries forward if you can.
Are Jetbee couriers trustworthy?
At Jetbee we do not open courier accounts for anyone under 18 on any vehicle type, and we do not work with candidates who have a criminal record. You can track every delivery live in our app. For cards and valuable documents we also run a dedicated service with motorcycle and car couriers.
