Same-Day Courier Prices in Izmir 2026: The Bay Effect, 15 Real Routes and Rates

Same-day courier prices in Izmir deserve a fresh look this week for two reasons. Fuel first: a special consumption tax increase on 1 November is expected to add TRY 4.15 to a litre of petrol and TRY 3.60 to a litre of diesel, and diesel in Izmir already costs more than TRY 98. Roads second: the Highways Directorate is closing lanes at night on part of the Izmir ring motorway until the end of October, and two lanes of the Izmir–Aydın motorway are closed towards Izmir until 6 November. We measured 15 real routes by road to show what a courier actually costs in Izmir and how the bay changes the maths.

Same-day courier prices in Izmir 2026: our current rates

In Izmir the courier price depends first on the vehicle and then on the road distance. At Jetbee we work with five courier types, each with its own parcel size and range. These are our VAT-inclusive customer prices as of 30 October 2026:

For walking, bicycle and scooter couriers the distance limit is also a service rule: walking couriers take jobs up to 1 km, bicycle, e-bike and e-scooter couriers up to 3 km. There is no extra-km fee for these types and no job beyond the limit, so a short drop in Kemeraltı or along the Kordon does not need a motorcycle.

For motorcycles and cars the first 5 km cost a flat TRY 288; each additional kilometre adds TRY 57.60: price = 288 + (km − 5) × 57.60 TRY. Konak Square to central Bornova measured 11.57 km, so the price is TRY 666.43. Motorcycle and car cost the same; parcel volume and weather decide which one fits. With a 75 km range for motorcycles and 100 km for cars, we cover Izmir from Menemen in the north to Torbalı in the south.

The bay effect: 15 real routes and prices in Izmir

What sets Izmir apart from other big cities is the bay. From Konak, Karşıyaka seems to be right across the water and the ferry ride is short, but a courier carrying a parcel cannot cross the sea and has to drive around the eastern end of the bay. That is why we always measure distance by road. The table covers 15 sample routes between business districts, bazaars, industrial zones, the airport and outer districts. Driving distances come from OpenStreetMap data (OSRM); for short routes we also measured walking and cycling routes:

• The other shore is further than it looks. Konak Square to Karşıyaka Bazaar is 4.35 km as the crow flies but 13.51 km by road, more than three times longer. Sending from a depot on the same shore saves money.
• Inside Kemeraltı a walking courier costs half. The walking route from Konak Square to Kemeraltı is 0.66 km: TRY 144 on foot versus TRY 288 by motorcycle.
• Konak–Alsancak fits the bicycle limit. The cycling route is 2.79 km, so a TRY 216 bicycle or scooter courier is enough for small parcels. Alsancak to Bayraklı is over 3 km by bike, but by motorcycle it is 4.89 km, just under the 5 km threshold, so TRY 288.
• Industrial and airport jobs are about kilometres. Alsancak to Atatürk OIZ costs TRY 959.62, Bornova to Kemalpaşa OIZ TRY 945.22, Alsancak to Torbalı TRY 2,915.71.

Roadworks in Izmir this week and the 1 November fuel increase

According to the roadworks list of the Highways Directorate's 2nd Region, works run on kilometres 0–2 of the Izmir ring motorway between the 6. Sanayi and Fahrettin Altay junction ramps from 1 to 31 October 2026, between 22:00 and 05:00; the middle and left lanes are closed in a controlled way during those hours. The same list shows the right lane and hard shoulder closed towards Izmir on the D550 Junction-3 bridge (km 20–21) of the Izmir–Aydın motorway from 26 October to 6 November, with traffic using the left and middle lanes.

Inside the city, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has reorganised lanes and signals around the Koçtaş junction in Çiğli and plans to widen the Caher Dudayev Boulevard bridge at the Mavişehir entrance, adding three lanes and a cycle lane.

On fuel, T24, citing the ANKA news agency, reports that on 1 November the tax per litre rises to TRY 11.36 for petrol and TRY 9 for diesel, which with VAT means about TRY 4.15 more for petrol and TRY 3.60 more for diesel. According to Habertürk's 30 October 2026 list, petrol costs TRY 77.50, diesel TRY 98.10 and LPG TRY 41.20 per litre in Izmir.

1. Allow extra time at night. Until the night of 31 October, traffic on that ring-road section may run in a single lane between 22:00 and 05:00.
2. Plan southern jobs early. Deliveries coming in from Torbalı or Aydın on the Izmir–Aydın motorway may meet narrowed lanes until 6 November.
3. Choose the pickup point wisely. Going around the bay can add 8–9 km to a job, and that distance goes straight into the price.

Four factors that set courier prices in Izmir

1. The bay and the 5 km threshold

Most jobs between Konak, Alsancak, Basmane and Bayraklı stay under 5 km and cost TRY 288. Crossing to the other shore or heading to Bornova, Buca or Balçova passes the threshold, and every extra kilometre counts.

2. Parcel size and vehicle capacity

Walking, bicycle and scooter couriers carry parcels up to 5 desi; motorcycles take up to 40 desi and cars up to 150 desi (desi = length × width × height in cm / 3000). Bulky sample boxes from the industrial zones usually need a car.

3. Time of day and roadworks

Our price is distance-based, so rush hour or a lane closure does not change it, but either can lengthen delivery time.

4. Fuel cost
