Moving costs in Turkey are back in the spotlight this autumn. On 10 October 2026 diesel jumped by TRY 6.39 per litre overnight and reached TRY 96.59 in Istanbul, so anyone planning a house move is asking how much of that will end up in the mover's quote. In this guide we analysed a full year of real removal quotes by home size, province and distance. We calculated how much more an intercity move costs than a local one, how strongly distance drives the price and where the fuel increase hurts most, and we finish with a checklist for comparing quotes properly.
Summary: house removals in Turkey, October 2026
- Local 2+1 move: median quote TRY 25,000; 3+1: TRY 30,000.
- Intercity 2+1 move: median TRY 60,000 – about 2.4× the local price.
- Diesel rose by TRY 6.39 on 10 October 2026 to TRY 96.59 in Istanbul (≈7.1%).
- From 0–150 km to 1,300+ km the median quote climbs from TRY 40,000 to TRY 70,000: fixed costs dominate.
- See an estimate for your own move with the Jetbee moving cost calculator.

Moving costs in Turkey 2026: quote ranges by home size

There is no official price list for house removals; every move is priced on volume, floors, distance and services. The most reliable reference is therefore the spread of quotes given to real requests. We compiled the table below from Nakliyat Platformu's openly licensed Moving Quotes Dataset: 40,496 quotes for 3,421 moving requests opened between 1 October 2025 and 30 September 2026. "Middle half" covers the 25th to 75th percentile, "median" is the quote in the middle. The multiplier in the last column is our own calculation.
| Home | Local move: middle half of quotes | Local median | Intercity: middle half | Intercity median | Intercity vs local |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1+0 | TRY 10,000–20,000 | TRY 15,000 | TRY 25,000–45,000 | TRY 35,000 | 2.33× |
| 1+1 | TRY 18,000–26,000 | TRY 22,000 | TRY 40,000–60,000 | TRY 50,000 | 2.27× |
| 2+1 | TRY 22,000–32,500 | TRY 25,000 | TRY 50,000–70,000 | TRY 60,000 | 2.40× |
| 3+1 | TRY 25,000–40,000 | TRY 30,000 | TRY 55,000–75,000 | TRY 65,000 | 2.17× |
| 4+1 | TRY 31,000–55,000 | TRY 40,000 | TRY 65,000–90,000 | TRY 75,000 | 1.88× |
- 2+1 homes are the biggest group, with 497 local and 1,050 intercity requests, so their figures are the most robust.
- Leaving the city roughly doubles or more than doubles the price. The multiplier is 2.27 for 1+1, 2.4 for 2+1 and 1.88 for 4+1 homes; in large homes labour already weighs so much that distance matters relatively less.
- These are quotes, not final prices. 95% of the requests date from June to September 2026, i.e. before the October diesel increase.
Diesel above TRY 96: how the 10 October increase feeds into quotes

According to Habertürk's report of 10 October 2026, diesel rose by TRY 6.39 per litre at midnight. It now costs TRY 96.59 on Istanbul's European side, TRY 96.39 on the Asian side, TRY 97.69 in Ankara, TRY 97.89 in Izmir and TRY 99.29 in eastern provinces. With a pre-increase Istanbul price of TRY 90.20, that is a one-step rise of about 7.1%; filling a 50-litre tank now costs TRY 319.50 more.
The pressure is not new. T24 reported on 3 April 2026 that when diesel approached TRY 80, movers could no longer commit to fixed prices even a week ahead and switched to daily or per-trip pricing, sometimes with a fuel clause. Today's Istanbul price is about 21% above that TRY 80 mark.
For a local move, crew time, packing and the vehicle being tied up all day make up most of the cost, so fuel has a limited share. On intercity moves the fuel share grows noticeably: every 100 litres of diesel now costs TRY 639.00 more, and the truck also has to return. Do not be surprised if quotes in October and November sit closer to the upper end of the summer ranges below.
Local moving prices: Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and other provinces
Istanbul dominates local demand: 68% of local quotes in the dataset went to requests in Istanbul. Medians by province:
| Province | 2+1 median | 3+1 median | All homes: middle half | All homes median |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Istanbul | TRY 26,000 | TRY 35,000 | TRY 22,000–35,000 | TRY 28,000 |
| Ankara | TRY 25,000 | TRY 28,000 | TRY 22,000–30,000 | TRY 25,000 |
| Izmir | TRY 27,000 | TRY 35,000 | TRY 25,000–35,000 | TRY 30,000 |
| Kocaeli | — | — | TRY 25,000–35,000 | TRY 30,000 |
| Bursa | — | — | TRY 22,000–30,000 | TRY 25,000 |
| Antalya | — | — | TRY 18,500–33,000 | TRY 25,000 |
| Adana | — | — | TRY 20,000–25,000 | TRY 23,000 |
| Konya | — | — | TRY 19,000–25,000 | TRY 22,000 |
| Gaziantep | — | — | TRY 15,000–25,000 | TRY 20,000 |
The gap between Istanbul and Ankara for a 2+1 flat is only TRY 1,000; differences open up from 3+1 homes upwards (TRY 35,000 in Istanbul and Izmir vs TRY 28,000 in Ankara). In Gaziantep, Konya and Adana medians stay between TRY 20,000 and TRY 23,000; traffic, parking and high-rise buildings push big-city prices up.
Intercity moving prices: what distance really does to a quote

The dataset's distance breakdown groups intercity quotes by measured road distance between provincial centres. In the last column we calculated how much more each band costs than the shortest one:
| Distance | 2+1 median | 3+1 median | All homes: middle half | All homes median | vs 0–150 km |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0–150 km | TRY 40,000 | TRY 43,000 | TRY 33,000–50,000 | TRY 40,000 | — |
| 150–300 km | TRY 50,000 | TRY 50,000 | TRY 40,000–58,000 | TRY 50,000 | +25% |
| 300–500 km | TRY 55,000 | TRY 60,000 | TRY 45,000–65,000 | TRY 55,000 | +38% |
| 500–750 km | TRY 60,000 | TRY 65,000 | TRY 53,000–70,000 | TRY 60,000 | +50% |
| 750–1,000 km | TRY 65,000 | TRY 75,000 | TRY 55,000–80,000 | TRY 65,000 | +62% |
| 1,000–1,300 km | TRY 65,000 | TRY 75,000 | TRY 60,000–77,000 | TRY 68,000 | +70% |
| 1,300+ km | TRY 70,000 | TRY 80,000 | TRY 60,000–85,000 | TRY 70,000 | +75% |
Kilometres alone do not set the price. Between 0–150 km and 1,300+ km the distance grows more than tenfold, yet the median quote rises from TRY 40,000 to TRY 70,000, about 1.75 times. Loading, unloading, packing and crew are paid on every move; distance comes on top, and that is exactly the part the fuel increase inflates. Popular routes fit the picture: Ankara–Istanbul TRY 60,000, Istanbul–Izmir TRY 59,000, Kocaeli–Istanbul TRY 38,000 and Mardin–Istanbul TRY 75,000 (all home sizes, both directions).
What pushes a quote up – and the fuel clause to watch
- Volume: selling or donating what you will not take means a smaller vehicle and shorter loading time.
- Floors and lifts: for local 2+1 moves the median is TRY 25,000 up to the 3rd floor by stairs and TRY 28,000 from the 4th floor up; building type and volume also play a role, so do not read this as a per-floor fee.
- Packing, assembly and insurance: ask whether materials, furniture assembly and insurance cover are included, in writing.
- Storage: if you need temporary storage, state duration and volume when you request quotes.
- Fuel clause: get the reference pump price and the maximum surcharge written into the contract, or ask for a fixed price or cap.

How to choose a reliable mover: the K3 licence and a checklist
Under the freight transport licence types published by Turkey's Ministry of Transport, companies carrying household and office goods commercially need a K3 authorisation certificate (C3 for international household moves). Whichever channel you use, check these points before signing:
| Check | One mover by phone | Jetbee Moving Marketplace |
|---|---|---|
| Price comparison | You call each company separately | Partner quotes on one screen |
| Vehicle choice | Depends on the mover's fleet | Panel van, light truck, truck or semi-trailer |
| Tracking | Mostly phone and messages | Quote, booking and tracking in one panel |
| Price information | Verbal price after a survey | Estimate first, then firm quotes |
| Licence and contract | You must ask for K3 and a written contract | Still confirm K3 and written scope with the chosen mover |

Frequently asked questions
How much does a house move cost in Turkey in 2026?
Based on quotes given between October 2025 and September 2026, the median quote for a 2+1 flat (two bedrooms plus living room) is TRY 25,000 within the same city and TRY 60,000 between cities. For a 3+1 home the medians are TRY 30,000 and TRY 65,000. Volume, floor, distance and extra services decide the final price.
How much does the diesel increase affect moving prices?
On 10 October 2026 diesel rose by TRY 6.39 per litre to TRY 96.59 in Istanbul, an increase of about 7.1%. The effect is strongest on long-distance moves. In local moves most of the price is labour and vehicle time, so fuel plays a smaller role.
What does a 2+1 move within Istanbul cost?
In the same dataset the median quote for a 2+1 move inside Istanbul is TRY 26,000, with the middle half of quotes between TRY 22,000–35,000. For a 3+1 home the median is TRY 35,000. Lifts, the number of floors and packing needs can move the price outside this range.
Why don't intercity moving prices rise in line with distance?
Loading, unloading, packing and crew costs are fixed regardless of distance. In the data the median quote is TRY 40,000 for 0–150 km and TRY 70,000 for 1,300 km and more, so while distance grows more than tenfold the quote rises only about 1.75 times.
What is a fuel surcharge clause in a moving contract?
Some movers add a fuel clause so they can adjust the price if pump prices change before moving day. Before accepting a quote, get in writing which fuel price is used as the reference and the maximum difference that can be charged.
Is getting a moving quote on Jetbee free?
Yes. You can see an estimated price on our calculator for free, and opening a sender account is free as well. The final amount is set by the quotes our moving partners send once your request is created in the Jetbee Cerebral app; you pay only for the offer you choose.
